This office features a custom made desk with cut-out area to accommodate a person in a power wheelchair. It would also be useful to anyone with physical limitations of the arms and hands. The desk makes it possible for people with limited reach and hand function to work via desk surfaces on both sides as well as in front. It's also possible for a wheelchair user to move to the left roll-under side of the desk for another work surface.
The keyboard is compact, like a laptop keyboard, from Datalux. The advantage of this type keyboard is that none of the keys are located to the left of the text keys so they won't interfere with the power control on the wheelchair.
The mouse is a large ball trackball with four keys by Kensington. The large ball makes it easy for people with very limited hand use to move the cursor, even if they use some kind of typing stick. The four keys are easy to program so a user can set one key to lock and drag which allows the user to highlight, copy, and paste items.
The telephone is a speaker phone with a large caller display screen attached for convenience of users with sight impairment.
