This view of the kitchen starts with the oven shown on the mid-left side. The oven door swings open to the side, rather than flopping down. By swinging open to the side it makes room in front of the oven which is convenient for people in wheelchairs and people with limited hand and arm function.
There is a slide-out breadboard under the countertop and above the microwave. It serves as a convenient place to place food and utinsels going to or from the oven.
A drawer type microwave is located under the countertop next to the oven. It rolls open with push of a button and closes the same way. This drawer style is not a good choice for people with limited strength or hand function. In those cases a countertop style microwave oven is a better option.
The roll-under cooktop has control buttons located on the front corner so users don't have to reach over burners. The burners are staggered so users don't need to reach over burners to reach pots at the back of the cooktop. There is a mirror mounted on the wall in back of the cooktop and tilted down so seated people can easily see what's cooking. The cooktop is set into the countertop so it is flush with the countertop. This makes it possible to slide pots and pans from countertop to cooktop and vice-versa. The on/off switches for the ventilation hood lights and fan are located on the sidewall of the roll-in area under the cooktop.
