Kitchen Features - Corner, Counter and Sink View

counter top, roll-under counter top & sink

Features shown in this photo include the roll-under counter top, which makes a good work area for people who are seated or in wheelchairs.

The counter top has a contrasting edge that helps people with sight impairment more easily discern the edge. There is a literature holder sitting on the counter top. It will hold papers, magazines, or books in a readable position. A large print cookbook is currently in the holder at the house.

The corner under the counter top contains corner drawers instead of the typical lazy Susan. The drawers, like all cabinets and drawers in the kitchen, have loop style handles which make them easy to pull out and they have a large capacity.

The roll-under, height adjustable sink is electrically powered. It can be raised or lowered from 28" - 36" making it adaptable for comfortable use by the entire family regardless of whether they are standing, seated, short, or tall. The sink includes a motion activated faucet with a pull-out spray end and a built-in soap dispenser. The area under the sink was left open to allow interested visitors an easy view of the mechanism along with the electrical and plumbing connections needed for the sink.

The casement window provides good natural light. It has an oversize crank for better grip and leverage for people with limited strength or limited arm and hand function. The window blind is operated by remote control, which is very convenient for all people.
