Assortment of Writing Tools
These writing tools are all useful to people with an assortment of disabilities and physical limitations. They are on display in the house where visitors can try them out to find out which would best serve their needs.
- Writing Bird: The Writing Bird is a writing instrument that is ideal for people who are unable to hold a pen. The writing tool can be used with either the right or left hand. Gentle pressure on the bird's tail allows it to glide along the writing surface without smearing. This writing aid is made of frosted, durable plastic. A retractable pen with blue ink is included
- Ergosleek Pen: The Penagain has an extra-soft, pliable surface that makes it even easier to hold this PenAgain writing instrument. Perfect for patients with limited grasp.
- Arthwriter: The Arthwriter Pen is easy to use arthritis aid will accommodate any long object up to ¾" in diameter including writing instruments, grooming aids or even your toothbrush. It can be used with your left or right hand.
Simply place the object into the hole of the Arthwriter® and tighten the thumb-screw until it is secure. The Arthritis Aid is light weight weighing only 2 ounces.
- Steady Write Pen: The Steady Write Pen is helpful for those who have Parkinson's, arthritis or limited use of hands. Permanently attached base stabilizes hand at a special angle to smooth out shaky or poor handwriting. Grip with fingers held between knuckles, or grasp like an ordinary pen. Black ink. Latex free.
- Wanchick Writer Instrument: The Wanchik Writer is a multipurpose tool. Plastic-covered aluminum hand and hand/wrist orthoses hug the palm and hold the index finger to give individuals with weakened hand, finger and/or wrist dexterity the support and control needed to write.
